Types of Funds

Donor-Advised Funds

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a personal charitable giving account that allows you the freedom to decide where and how often you want to give. After opening your Donor-Advised Fund, you can make distributions from your fund to the ministries you wish to support.

How much do I need to start a Fund with The Catholic Foundation?

The gift amount required to open any Fund is just $5,000.

How often can I contribute to my Fund?

You can contribute to your fund as frequently as you wish.

Are contributions to a Fund with The Catholic Foundation tax deductible?

With any contribution to your fund, you receive the maximum tax deduction allowed by the IRS.

Can I make withdrawals from an Endowment Fund?

Unlike a Donor-Advised Fund, Endowment Funds are not meant to have consistent withdrawals. In fact, their purpose is the opposite. These funds are most successful when their initial asset, or corpus, remains untouched. This allows for the corpus to grow over time, leaving the interest earned each year to be used for the Endowment’s intended purpose.

Will my investments follow Socially Responsible Investment Guidelines?

Yes. You can rest easy that your investments are professionally managed in agreement with Socially Responsible Investment Guidelines.
