In forming our Fund for Addiction and Recovery Education at CFGP, we hope to work with them to raise awareness about substance use disorders and the impact of addiction on families and on our community. For too long, addiction and behavioral health issues have been avoided, ignored, or denied. Our fund with CFGP will support and highlight efforts by Catholic organizations and community partners to address issues of prevention, stigma, treatment, and recovery throughout the Diocese.

Pope Benedict XVI called on the laity to be "truly co-responsible for the being and activity of the Church." By opening a fund at CFGP we have expressed our commitment to support the Catholic Church both now and in the future. However, we are not called to write a blank check for the Church. A fund at CFGP allows us to be more intentional about giving and insures accountability for our financial gifts.

The Saint Lucy School community is so grateful to the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia for their efforts on our behalf. Their sincere interest in our current work with students who are visually impaired, as well as our dreams to serve a wider population of students with vision loss, has been an overwhelming gift to us. Thank you for helping us continue to serve our students in a loving, nurturing, Catholic School environment.

CFGP truly took the time to understand our role as the mother church of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and the individual needs of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. As we navigate new opportunities and challenges, I know that CFGP will be there to assist us in any way that they can. CFGP is a blessing to the Cathedral and a blessing to the entire Catholic Community.

What many people don’t know about CFGP, and their consulting services is when you sign on to work with them, their staff literally becomes your own. Their team provides clients like us with not just the tools we need to run a successful annual appeal, but the staff to supplement it. Its’ been a blessing having their fundraising and development expertise on our side.
