De La Salle Vocational, part of St. Gabriel's System, is a treatment program providing services for delinquent youth to assist their reform and help them to become responsible and productive members of the community. CFGP's $500 Community Impact Award will help purchase a new TV screen for their on-site Career Center. The screen displays current job postings for students and is also used during class time to project lesson plans.
The System's two facilities, St. Gabriel's Hall and De La Salle Vocational, provide education, social work, youth care, clinical services and support for all students. De La Salle Vocational serves high school students ages 14-18 though the implementation of a Sanctuary Model of Trauma-Informed Care. This model is therapeutic for students as they work to express their feelings.
De La Salle's year-round academic program in career and technical education serves the following areas:
- Building Maintenance and Repair
- General Carpentry
- Auto Services
- Culinary Arts
